What to watch on TV tonight: Monday

Here are the shows that will be on your Twitter timeline this evening.

Every lunchtime, DailyEdge.ie rounds up the TV shows that you’ll be tweeting about tonight and talking about tomorrow.

University Challenge (BBC2, 8pm)

Tonight, St Catharine’s College Cambridgetake on the University of Southampton. How many questions can you get right? Would Jeremy Paxman give you a withering look, or a surprised one? Things to mull over. #universitychallenge

300 (ITV2, 9pm)

THIS. IS. SPARTAAAAA! The film that truly launched Gerard Butler into the public consciousness, based on the comic by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley. Look out for Michael Fassbender in his first film role.

Burn After Reading (TG4, 9.30pm)

A blacker than black comedy from the Coen Brothers, starring Brad Pitt as a bumbling gym employee who accidentally gets his hands on the manuscript of a former CIA agent’s exposé of the agency. Weird yet fun.

Everyone is talking about… #Emmys

The TV Oscars took place last night in an absolutely roasting Los Angeles, with Game of Thrones sweeping the board, awards-wise.

The stars naturally lit up Instagram with behind-the-scenes snaps – here are some of the best:
